That’s Ann Robinson, dressed in a costume by Edith Head who was asked to create a Martian Warrior Woman for publicity. Ms Robinson, according to her comment to this photo on her son’s Facebook page, never actually knew what the costume was for. As a contract player for Paramount, she just showed up and did the job. The Chesley Bonestell cloudscape background is pure Paramount. They were used for publicity photos for everything from “When Worlds Collide” to “The Ten Commandments.”
