Although I like almost all kinds of music I haven’t listened to much country music for a while. But this song has stuck with me. The song is about child abuse, a tragic event that happens all too often, and arson (which I certainly don’t condone). But I like the song because of the lyrics of the chorus. And I relate it to my never ending (23 years so far) struggle against the forces of corruption, bigotry/homophobia, and lies that are all too prevalent on the real Island of Misfit Toys where I live.
