A great photo from 1927’s “The Unknown,” one of my favorite Lon Chaney films. A very early Joan Crawford demurely flirting with Norman Kerry as “Malabar the Mighty, circus strongman.” Lon tries to rip Malabar’s arms out of their sockets in this one. Pre-code films are the best!
I stand corrected, sir! I’ve never claimed to be an expert on old films, just a fan, and this picture was labeled as Errol and Joan wherever I got it. Norman sure looks like Errol but I would’ve never guessed that that was Joan Crawford! Will edit now.
