This is really cool. The photo looks like it is from before 1900, but the Frankenstein monster’s head–so disturbing, so deliciously perfect–is certainly Jack Pierce’s design from 1931, down to the bolts. Wonderful to think of “Frankenstein” as a child, when most “normal children” are really little monsters…
