I saw “Cover Girl” just last night. A 40’s confection. Shelly Winters wrote in her autobiography that Rita Hayworth was miserable in these days. Maybe it was that, because for all the huge smiles, Rita looked sad to me. But boy can she dance! Gilda is a much better role for her.

The flat top hair style in this picture is not doing her any favours. I love Rita for her dancing, spunk, and smile. Not so much for her acting.
