OMG this ad is brimming with ignorance, elitism, and racism. But that’s certainly not why I posted it, I offer it up to ridicule. I posted it because I thought Fairy Soap was funny itself, let alone the notion that a soap could magically wash away poverty and “otherness”. {Shakes head, rolls eyes}. Hard to imagine a time when this ad would’ve been tolerated, harder still to imagine that it was probably only 125 years ago (which, in the grand sweep of history, is just a blink of the eye).
