Anita was a Big Star in the late 20s and early 30s, and she lived to a ripe old age. A friend of mine interviewed her around 2000 and she was a real kick. A little confused in her last years. Ramon came up, and she said she had just had lunch with him last week. And my friend had to tell her Ramon had been dead for 25 years…
I’m familiar with her name but not her work – which means she must have been more of a silent star or at least before my era of limited knowledge of movies (mid 1930s to mid 1950s).
Hey, I wouldn’t have burst her bubble. She was obviously back in/reliving happier and healthier times and there’s nothing wrong with that! Just as long as you don’t go overboard with it – I’m talking to you Norma Desmond and Baby Jane Hudson!
