I have to admit I have stared at these images for a while – endless fascination at the actual distribution of population. Apparently different countries/regions use different kinds of street lights etc. (the different colours in the picture of Europe) and the off-shore gas/oil fields between Scotland and Norway are so dense they look like an island.
