It’s funny I just read an old New York Times Book Review and they had a review about a book on Chicago history and they called the race riots of 1911 (?) the worst thing that’s ever happened to/in Chicago. I scratched my head. Would have thought the Great Fire would’ve been the worst thing.

or the fact that no matter where I go in the world, when I say I’m from Chicago people always say something like, “Oh, yeah, Al Capone.”
Al Capone… forgot about him. Actually my first association with Chicago is Oprah.
