Another of my top ten favorites. I love Joan, but Bette really had the balls to make her appearance and her performance memorable. I still can’t believe that I am now several years older then Bette in “Baby Jane” and Gloria Swanson in “Sunset Boulevard.” So if I sing “I’m Writing a Lettah to Daddy” or shoot William Holden, I’ve got an excuse.
Great movie, and I agree – though I love my Joan it was Bette who really went over the top in her performance in this movie. Is there something wrong with singing “I’ve written a letter to Daddy”…? I do it now and then. LOL
