Very sad to hear of the death of my friend, Brook, of cancer, just 2 days before his 50th birthday. I can’t go to his funeral in Ottawa tomorrow so I guess I’ll have to remember him in my own way. These pictures are from a camping trip we took in the early 80s to way northern Quebec when we were 17 or 18. I only knew Brook for several years but he played a very important and pivotal role in my life. He was my first boyfriend. We came out more or less at the same time and together, we both tried to finish high school early so we could move on to adulthood and move away from our less than stellar family situations – we helped each other through these major transitions. Je me souviens. Toujours.

I’m sorry for your loss. Something like this is never easy. Wishing you strength.
So very sorry for your loss. It’s never easy to lose someone that you love, be it now, or in the past. Just remember how lucky you were to have had spent some time with him. Take it from someone who has lost a lot of loved ones.
