I believe that is Miramare Castle in the background
It was built from 1856 to 1860 for Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian and his wife, Charlotte of Belgium, later Emperor Maximilian I and Empress Carlota of Mexico, based on a design by Carl Junker.
But perhaps you already knew that. lol
I had no idea – I don’t know much about this area. But I’ve always been interested in visiting Trieste one day as it is so multi-cultural. And way fewer tourists then nearby Venice!
