Well, this is a little bit of an exaggeration. Flying fishes (the ones pictures here with wings) do indeed fly above the water but not very high out of the water. The other fish are tuna and they can, I think in a feeding frenzy, start jumping out of the water – but, again, not THAT high out of the water. If I were that guy I’d sit my ass down before he gets knocked into the water by a big ass tuna.
When I go into a feeding frenzy I often jump clear out of the water myself…
Hey Dan! I was wondering how you were and how your neighbourhood weathered the hurricane. And as far as feeding frenzies go – like at buffets and potlucks- I always say “Hey someone has to be first in line, might as well be me”.
Hey Matthew! The hurricane did some damage at the coast, but luckily it was concentrated in a narrow band, and once it climbed the mountains to get to my plateau it lost all of it’s power. In Guadalajara, which is a mile up, we only got rain.
any chance you know the artist of that print? (Flying Fish…)
I googled it and all I could find is that it is titled ” Dodging Flying Fishes” from the book “Fish stories alleged and experienced, with a little history natural and unnatural” by Charles Holder and David Jordan, 1909. But it didn’t say the authors were the illustrators so not sure who did the illustration.
its a mystery, such great artwork but no record of who did it, been trying to figure this one out for a few years! Best!
