This isn’t actually Daudet, but Armand Antoine Agénor de Gramont, duc de Guiche, later 12th duc de Gramont. He was also a friend – just a friend – of Proust.

Thanks for the correction. Wherever I found this photo it had said he was Lucien Daudet and I just repeated the error apparently.
Oh, I completely understand. I see this image all over the place misidentified as Daudet; our dear internet is a fount is misinformation!
