I believe that the first photograph of the two submitted here is from “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, the second is definitely from the opening of “Butterfield 8”.
Hey Vartan! Yes, definitely a great time in terms of great people and good food but by now I’m such a country boy the noise of the city was very hard for me to take. And, yes, you’re right about the top photo being from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I’ll correct that. I was going for a theme of late 50s/early 60s movies filmed in NYC which BUtterfied 8 fits but Tennessee Williams scorching story of love and hate on a southern plantation most decidedly does not.
