What a nice picture from the 20’s. The phase under the picture translates:
“the words fly away, the writings stay”.
A famous french proverb, still used today.
The girl search for her man’s diary because she suspects her man of infidelity and she thinks he may have left a written proof like an adress, name, phone number…
Today the same is done by watching the partner’s phone email…
