Pickelhaube. I learned a new word today! Thank you.
I did not know this word either, and will try to remember it (even if I have to wait years to place it in a conversation).
Anyway:
Maximilianovitch => Slavish/ Russian
Leuchtenberg => German
Beauharnais => French
There’s no need to say: some have it all 🙂
I’m a mixture of French Canadian and German but have a Russian last name – just covering all the bases I guess. I think I look German but think/act French. But I’d hold off on being attracted to Sergei Romanov, he was a total jerk and ended up being assassinated if I remember correctly.

Yeah, those pointy German military hats are called pickelhaubes. It’s one of maybe 50 words in German I know.

Oh, did I mention he looks kind of cool and handsome ?

Pickelhaubish? As in “I found him attractive, but his head was rather pickelhaubish.”
