The skirt upon the rider pants had to have its utility, anyway the whole over-embroidement is splendid! Way more impressive than the English hussar jacket I bought some years ago.

Arghh, so much for the fantasy of hanging such a painting on the wall. But It explains the kind of ‘modern touch’ I just could not put put finger on.

I thought it was a painting too but I googled it and it appears to be a photograph – a series of current day models in traditional Greek clothing.
