Any time I post pictures of cowboy models there’s a big increase in visitors to this blog from… Germany. Can anyone explain this to me?

Google German writer Karl May. He wrote extremely popular novels romanticizing the North American West (and “Indians” especially). Apparently, there are still annual festivals in his hometown where re-enactors dress up like residents of “the Old West” and enjoy the idea of the frontier. Especially when the chuckwagon starts serving.
There are eight Karl May Festspiele (stage festivals) in Germany and two in Austria each year.
Europeans are fascinated by the American cowboy.
