What I found interesting about this painting is that the artist said that he was trying to imagine what it would look like having the three parts of his personality (id, ego, superego?) sitting around having a discussion.

I think I’d have to have 4 people in a painting of my inner self. The Landscaper/Lumberjack (dressed in rugged work clothes), the Effete Intellectual son of well off parents (dressed in fashionable summer vacation clothes), the Slutty Party Guy (dressed in a tight shirt and short shorts…), and the Mousey & Withdrawn Guy who just wants to be left alone (dressed as Greta Garbo?).
