The island I live on was hit by a storm with very strong winds on Monday. Electric power was out for 14 hours and the internet was down for 48 long, long hours (and had limited access via cellphone). So that explains why I was suddenly not posting for 48 hours. Did not enjoy my impromptu return to the 1800’s. Usually, power outages are very brief on the island because if it goes out on the mainland we can turn on a big generator on the island for a while to keep us powered up. And I’ve never experienced the internet down for so long. Oh, that hurt! I actually had to (gasp!) read a book. The island is getting fiber optic high speed internet in several months so that’ll be better. There really wasn’t much damage on the island so all the interruption in power, internet, land line phone must’ve been from mainland USA problems.
