I think this was the best performance of her career. And, you know, you can’t go wrong given it was based on a W. Somerset Maugham book. Although the movie took place in the South pacific (Samoa?) it was filmed in St. Lucia (in the Caribbean). The restaurant that was in the movie still existed back in the 1980s and I had dinner there one night with my then boyfriend.
