It would be less expensive in terms of both waging war and reconstruction after – to say nothing of the lives saved – if Russia was stopped dead in its tracks in Ukraine than if we let them keep marching into Eastern Europe. Letting a free and democratic nation on the edge of Europe fall into complete destruction, economic collapse, torture, rape, and kidnappings is not in anyone’s interest.
