Matthew, I knew you could do it! I hadn’t seen any of these images. The GIF is from “I’m No Angel” (1933), the man is Cary Grant. The veiled hat picture is from a couple years later, I’d guess. I think picture 3 is from “My Little Chickadee” (1940), when Mae was pushing 50. And the bat picture is from…heaven. My new favorite image on earth.
Thanks so much–I’ve always said you find the best stuff. Somewhere down the line I’d love to see what you come up for Anna May Wong!
