Plucked from one of my landscaping clients’ gardens last Fall.

Name dropping alert! I met Martha Reeves in NYC in the 80’s. My brother was a co-manager at a big nightclub and she performed there while I was in town visiting. At the sound check,  the club was completely empty, she asked me what song to sing for sound check and I said “Nowhere to Run” and she sang it directly to me. Swoon. So cool.
