Final scene in “Casablanca”

CasablancaI just read that the whole movie was filmed in California (I guess that shouldn’t surprise me – It was 1942 and WWII was raging at the time) and that in this final scene the plane she is about to get on to (in the background) is actually made of cardboard, the people in the background are midgets, and the scene was filmed in a Hollywood studio with a fog machine. Here’s looking at cinematography, kid! Though the movie did win the Best Picture Oscar the following year, none of the stars won awards.
