Rita Hayworth, from “Gilda” (1946), singing parts of “Put the Blame on Mame” – acoustic verses and nightclub verses

As the lead actor said just before this clip starts – her voice permeated my dreams – it was also so for me. Watched “Gilda” last night and then heard Rita’s acoustic singing in my dreams all night. Beautiful, haunting. Of course, the nightclub verses are also great in a razzmatazz way.

    • I read that the acoustic version was actually Rita singing but the nightclub version was someone else singing & dubbed in. I don’t know. Either way, she let’s her tragic face slip out at times during the acoustic version – and that’s pure Rita. Right from the soul.
