Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all! I’m not in the slight bit Irish but I know a lot of others who are of Irish descent and/or who celebrate the holiday. And you got to love a guy, St. Patrick, who drove all the snakes from an entire country. I hate snakes.

The only Irish people I’ve known personally were a couple of friends of my parents who are from and live in Northern Ireland. When first meeting them I asked the woman if she was Catholic or Protestant, knowing that that has significant meaning over there. She said that she was brought up Protestant and her husband was brought up Catholic – but as adults they were both atheists. If only personally and for themselves, they seemed to have found a path to peace in Northern Ireland.
