“The Sea Around Us” was good. Her book “Silent Spring” was one of the major catalysts for the environmental movement in the 1960s in “western” countries.
Oh yes! I knew that I recognized the name. I did read ‘Silent Spring’ many years ago. My mother introduced the book to me when I was a teenager. Funny thing, I still recommend it to people.

I read lines from the first chapter of Silent Spring to my students. So moving, they bring tears to my eyes. She was much maligned by the chemical industry and the government at the time. Much, much later they got around to apologizing.
And when you live on an island, like I do, the sea is literally around us.
