Beyond fab. Ol’ Lionel was a High Priest of Perv–I say this in the most respectful manner–who’s Hollywood downfall was naked pool parties at his house. Sounds keen to me, but he didn’t get much work after an incident or two in the pool house. Or was it on the pool house. Anyway, I like to think this artwork shows him imagining his next soirée. By the way, this is a pre-code movie with some incredible images. It opens with Mr. Atwill sewing shut his competitor’s mouth. A little over a year later a married couple had to sleep in single beds. Easy to see why I love the pre-codes. Plus this one has Randy Scott, Cary Grant’s husband at the time.
Just imagine what movies could’ve been like back then if the codes were less puritanical! And how different they might’ve been. Sigh. Speaking of Randy Scott & Cary Grant I found a great couple of pix of them, will post soon.
