I admit that I am not much of a Charlie Chaplin fan. I do appreciate how talented and innovative he was but it’s just not my shtick. Buster Keaton was more my style but, still slapstick is slapstick. The Three Stooges were too violent and mean for my taste. The Marx Bros. though make me laugh.
I agree 100%, Matthew! You have to give Wheeler and Woolsey a try, their pre-1934 stuff. ‘Peach-o-Reno’ or ‘Diplomaniacs,’ perhaps. Well worth searching out.
