Don’t worry, I’m no neo-Nazi sympathizer. On the rare occasion I post a Nazi or a fascist image from the 1930s/1940s it’s just out of voyeuristic fascination of historical things. The world should never forget what horrors the Nazis did and that they did exist. It’s history, man. Let’s not EVER repeat it, eh? Chilling to see it trying to rear it’s ugly head again in Europe & North America. It needs to be nipped right in the bud. Now.

However, membership in the Hitler Youth was obligatory and if you didn’t show up for a meeting or event someone came around to find out why not. A note was made that went on your school record, which you’d dare not contest. There was no escaping the fascist grip on everyday life. Therein lay the evil: coersion and violence.
