Steve Cochran died in his 40s aboard his boat which had a crew of nubile young ladies. Supposedly of some kind of infection. This was off the coast of Mexico, and Merle Oberon, with whom he had recently starred in “Of Love and Desire,” and who was married to magnate Bruno Paglia (sp?), wanted a government investigation.
