Lovely pic but the soldiers are clearly British, not American. Look at the helmets, the British 1937 pattern webbing, the Lee Enfield rifles No.4, the butt of a Sten gun and the barrel of a Bren machine gun on the top right.
Thanks for the correction, Michael! Wherever I got this from said they were Americans and I guess I don’t really know too much about military uniforms & guns to have spotted the mistake.
