  1. Shortly after, the whole Europe had other (very bad) matters to attend to, and fortunately (IMO) this silly project of a gigantic screw-shaped silo garage took a trip to oblivion. And if M. Freyssinet survived WW2 I guess he had many opportunities to commit himself to more useful buildings.

    • That would have been a blot on the skyline of Paris, for sure. I think there were plans for other such towers (where you drive up the outside) in other places at the time – like New Your City or Chicago. None were ever built, at least not ones as tall as the one in this picture.
