Thunderheads over Monument Valley, Arizona

I think I’ve mentioned this before but when I was a child my family took a summer vacation driving around a bunch of the national parks in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. My favourite place out of all the incredibly beautiful locations was Monument Valley. Pictures can’t really convey the immensity of these formations protruding out of basically flat, barren land. The emptiness, the wind, the scale of it all is truly stunning. On the other hand, the Grand Canyon didn’t really impress me – a huge hole for sure but not that pretty or interesting.
