I’ve been to St. Lucia many times in the past. Once on a solo trip, a bunch of times doing research & having meetings for my master’s thesis, and once on a romantic holiday with a boyfriend at the time. Beautiful country and great food. The Joan Crawford movie “Rain” (1932), which is based on the novel by Somerset Maugham and actually set in Samoa in the Pacific, was filmed here. Though the big resorts and jetport are on the southern end of the island I almost exclusively spent my time in the northern and central parts of the island and stayed in or near the capital city of Castries.
