The first time I knew I was not like other boys was during a boy scout camping trip to the Guadalupe River. We went swimming and the assistant scoutmaster, a married airman who looked a lot like the dude in #3, wore a red square-cut Speedo…and I could not take my eyes off him. I even said, “Mr. Scott, you look amazing.” He smiled and said thank you. I was asked to leave the troop when we returned home. I didn’t mind; I hated boy scouts. I just was sad not to see more of Mr. Scott.
