I read up a little about Leyendecker & Beach a short while ago. Beach certainly was quite protective of Leyendecker’s legacy after Leyendecker died. Loyal to the end.
That’s really cool to hear things like that happen(ed) within the gay community. Still wish I could locate a photograph of Beach for comparison.
I have an old union suit box with art almost the same as the image of the man with the suitcase. Had no idea it was Leyendeker. I always liked it for the art and the name, Kenosha Closed Crotch.

I couldn’t find a photo doing a google image search but I bet there is one in a book somewhere that no one has ever scanned.
