Hard not to draw parallels between the imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Nazi Germany invasion of Poland. I’m not saying they’re identical or that invading Ukraine will result in all out WWIII but it’s not going to be like when Russia just walked in and took Crimea in 2014. This will be the biggest war in Europe since the 1940s. Besides killing lots of people & destroying Ukraine, the repercussions of Putin’s folly will be felt around the world and will draw everyone in in one way or the other. And there’ll be the dread & anxiety of wondering if it will escalate into all out WWIII (which I think is unlikely but I wouldn’t rule out the war spilling over the Ukraine borders).
